Dirty Words Report #4: COMMUNITY is part of Protein’s ongoing series that reclaims overused buzzwords by unpacking their true meaning and relevance. This edition focuses on the concept of community, exploring it through co-creation, decentralized collaboration, and alternative value distribution models. Developed jointly by Protein Agency and Protein Community, I shaped the collaborative framework, including a co-authored playbook and a compensation structure that aligns contributor roles with royalty distribution. The project included a series of workshops focused on onboarding, research, editorial development, design, and marketing. I co-hosted and reviewed these sessions to ensure coherence across the process. The final report launched as a limited-edition NFT collectable with built-in royalties, rewarding contributors based on their involvement. Since its release, the report has evolved into a platform for community-led workshops in New York and London. It presents a refreshed definition of community, one that values belonging, participation, and shared ownership.
