DitherStudio

Creative Tools

2026

Dither Studio is a stand alone software created specifically for the EBS Handjet 260, a handheld printer traditionally used for industrial labeling.
The EBS Handjet 260 is a tool that has already been tested for many creative applications in the past.

Its creative potential lies within the 32pixel high layout that can accomodate different type of media, from images to fonts, from barcode to dynamic elements.

While the printer as it is, paired with the interface developed by EBS, provides already endless opportunities, it is not designed for creatives, and it falls short on some aspects I tackled.

I developed Dither Studio to automate an image editing and upload workflow. What normally would take hours, is now possible in a matter of second.

What does Dither Studio do?
- it allows to select multiple images to edit.

it applies multiple basic or advance dithering effects.

  • it allows to select multiple images to edit.
  • it applies multiple basic or advance dithering effects.
  • it splits the image in multiple strips of 32dots height.
  • it packages all the image strips and project files in folders ready to be uploaded directly on the printer via networked device

This process skips fully the EBS interface making the editing and uploading of files possible in a matter of seconds.

Dither Studio is a creative tool to edit and create composit images to be printed with an EBS handjet 260 handheld printer.
