The Human Upgrades Movement (THUM) is a research-driven collaboration between ELISAVA School of Design and Engineering and adidas MakerLab. Positioned as the capstone project of students' academic journey, THUM challenges participants to explore new paradigms of identity in the context of emerging technologies. Themes such as digital and functional identities, ambiguity, multiplicity, and fluidity are investigated through speculative design and research methodologies. The project is grounded in a research agenda developed by Saúl Baeza and Oscar Tomico, affiliated with the "Future Everyday" group at Eindhoven University of Technology and the "FuturesNow" group at Elisava Research. As part of the program, I mentored two of the six participating students: graphic designer Aina Martí and product designer and engineer Laia Moras Visa. My role involved guiding their research direction, critical thinking, and concept development throughout the final semester of their studies.
